Michael Hansen is a self-taught artist, but certainly not self-taught when it comes to presenting and teaching art. In his own artistic practice, he works with painting, sculpture, artist books and installation art. The work featured at the biennial, Fire in the Global Dog House, was originally created in 2017 and is shown here in an expanded version. His installations often use an array knick-knacks, kitsch and objects embedded with a sense of historicity.
A large part of Michael’s work consists in facilitating the creative process and finding joy in the company of art. In ensuring that children, young people and adults get opportunities to work with something that serves no practical purpose. There are so many things one has to do in this life, but life does not necessarily stick to the signposted paths
Michael Hansen is part of Socle du Monde’s Open Call, Danish Open.
