DO IT! Travel

Curated by Lotte Korshøj and Simon Njami.

Taking the collection at Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelts Museum as a starting point, this group exhibition shows new and older works united under the common theme of travel and exchange. Through a range of paintings, installations, photography, sculptures and works on paper, the exhibition points out visual connections between the chosen artists and their travels to and from Africa as well as in and around Europe, highlighting the influence of the cultural exchanges which occurred on these journeys.

Echoes of Memory: Stories Enshrined in Time

The artworks of Julia Llerena from Spain, Shéhérazade Lhadj Mohand from Morocco and Pascale Marthine Tayou from Cameroon establish connections between the past and the present through personal visual narratives.

Crossing Borders in Time and Place

Sonja Ferlov Mancoba and Carl-Henning Pedersen, artists from the artistic avantgarde around the Second World War, were both driven by a shared yearning for art that unites rather than divides.

Traveling between Cosmos and Chaos

Else Alfelt, an artist from the Danish avantgarde, and Olafur Eliasson both exhibit an unsentimental fascination with the grandeur of nature, one where light plays a significant role.
